Only two weeks passed after Jess + Brian’s wedding before I had the honour of photographing another Jasper local tying the knot. Laurel and I went to school together in Jasper as kids, and though she has long since moved away, she managed to come back home to have her dream wedding in our beautiful mountain town. When I met Greg in 2013 for the engagement session, it was like we had been friends all along, and had somehow only just met. The two of them got married in the September sunshine at Tekarra Lookout, which stands over the confluence of the Athabasca and Miette Rivers. Greg’s Minister came to Jasper and performed an incredibly touching and deeply personal ceremony, and finished it off with an intricate rose exchange with the bride and groom’s mothers. Laurel + Greg had rented a bus from SunDog Tours to take us around, so the wedding party took a trip up to Pyramid Lake for photographs before heading back down for the reception at the Sawridge.
It was a perfect end of summer day in the Rockies.
